Overview
This scenario is designed to inform and support Autistic people in disclosing Autism at work. The interactive, decision-based format allows users to practice key skills in a safe, structured environment. This scenario aims to provide autistic young people with an opportunity to practice disclosing autism at work. By practising disclosure in realistic scenarios, users can develop confidence in skills such as interpersonal communication skills and expressing thoughts, managing social anxiety, networking skills and following up with contacts and organisation skills regarding the job search process. This will empower them decide on whether or not it to disclose being autistic at work.
Introduction
Deciding to disclose that you are autistic at work can be difficult for a lot of people. While disclosure offers you many benefits, such as the possibility to avail of reasonable accommodations in the workplace, fear, anxiety and stigmatisation can be difficult obstacles to overcome. This scenario will discuss both the benefits and risks associated with disclosure for you to make an informed decision for yourself.
